'Aw man, I was doing that totally wrong!'

Josh has been a champ of ignoring some instruction books for baby stuff and just trying to figure things out on his own. This has been an interesting process to watch. You can see him get frustrated and then see his annoyance when I suggest reading the instructions. You can see him when he figures something out and gets all excited. And you can see when he discovers features and says 'Oh my gosh, this is genius! Did you know it did this?' It's been pretty comical to watch.

Well he finally gave in and decided that his attempt to install the car seat wasn't looking quite right. He went to our lovely local police department and had them check it out. I couldn't quit laughing when he came back and said 'Aw man, I was doing that totally wrong!' But the good news is that we're good to go now and kiddo will be secure in future travels!

He also went to my weekly doctor's appointment today and it was quick as usual. Nothing to report except that everything must be going okay because I got another 'high five' from the doctor.

Petey also had a big day and had his teeth cleaned and had 4 teeth pulled. (February is Pet Dental Health Month which also means they had a discount-score!) It also meant that he had to be put under--eeeks! Josh picked him up this afternoon and it's just about the saddest thing I've ever seen! He cried the whole way home and is just sitting here looking at us with tears in his eyes! Poor little buddy! The vet sent home pictures of his x-rays and even sent his pulled teeth home (um, gross). I think two were still baby teeth that didn't come out and two were bigger teeth that I guess didn't have room or something. So for the next week or so, he's on antibiotics and pain meds. Maybe the tooth fairy will have to pay him a visit!

If this is any indication of how bad you feel when you have to take your kids to get shots or something, Josh and I are going to bawling our heads off!
