Fantastic Fall
The weather is cooling off, but we aren't ready to be stuck inside the house! The other evening we played outside with our neighbors. Don't worry, it really wasn't that cold out at all and she probably didn't even need a hat, but we're first timers so of course, we're a little crazy!

7 Months!
Whoa! Can you believe it? (ok, I say that every month, but, really, can you believe it?!?!) Jolie is 7 months old today!
Here is what she's been up to lately
-Wears 3-6 and some 6-9 month clothes. (her closet has gotten out of control again!)
-Started taking baths in the big bath and sits up all by herself!
-Eats twice a day, but only eats 5 things--squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, sweet peas and green beans
-Drinks 5-6 bottles a day
-Sits all by herself for very long periods of time (like 15 minutes!)
-Gets sad when dad drops her off at school and grabs for him :(
-Reaches for her dad (even when I'm holding her!) She's already a daddy's girl!!
-Sometimes has 'stranger anxiety' and is more leery of guys
-Likes to talk and say 'a-ga' over and over and over
-Wears a size 2 diaper and size 2-3 at night (she can really pee a lot after all night!)
-Loves grabbing for glasses and hair
-Typically wakes up around 6:30-7:00 am, takes a morning nap, takes a longer afternoon nap and then goes to bed around 8:00-8:30 pm.
-Loves watching Petey, people and the Apple iPad commercial Seriously, she stops whatever she is doing and just stares when she hears that commercial! She already has expensive taste! :)
-And we may have a tooth poking through! You can definitely feel something but we can't see it yet!
Here's Jolie sitting up so big!

She can even play in her bouncer now and reach everything! And we down to just a slight pad so she can reach.

Run Around Saturday
Saturday's are usually pretty lazy days at our house especially since it's college football season--my favorite! (well I guess most time at our house is lazy time, but it's awesome!) but today was a busy day for Jolie!
Jolie and dad took a little morning snooze.

Jolie sat up all by her self for a very long time today! She's such a little pro--she'll even play with toys and everything!

Then I heard that GAP was having a sweet sale on jeans for just 3 hours today and I thought--OMG! We could Jolie jeans for the next year!! So we went to Valley West mall and ate at Jimmy John's then cruised on over to Baby GAP. Whoa--apparently everyone else had heard about this sale as well because everything was gone and the store was packed! So we went to a few other stores and left the mall with nothing! It was crazy! I quickly remembered why I don't go to the mall on the weekends!
Then we went to Target and it was crazy there as well. We tried to hurry and grab what we needed, but it always seems to take forever. Jolie was such a champ though! She loves going places and just watching all the people and sometimes she gets very talkative as well. This comes in very handy because she kind of serves as her own horn yelling at everyone to get out of her way. Then I don't have to say 'excuse me' to people, because they already heard us coming. Plus if Josh and I get separated, it's pretty easy for us to find each other as we just follow the babbling baby noise! :) She also makes lots of friends everywhere we go and lots of people stop to talk to her because she'll just smile and talk to them. We could have a very social butterfly on our hands!
So then we finally got home and although Jolie took a short cat nap in the car, I thought she could use a big afternoon nap. I tried for almost 2 hours to get her to nap with no success. So finally I decided that I guess she was fine and just wanted to play. Of course, by about 6:30 this evening, she was dragging! And I don't think the bath helped either. Josh and I tried to keep her awake until at least 8, but Josh turned his head for just a minute and...

PASSED OUT! At just after 7pm so we'll see if she decides to wake up at 4 or 5 this morning.

Baking Soda and Baking Powder are NOT the same
Haha! (Josh is going to love this one!) Josh decided to bake some chocolate chip cookies today and once they were done baking he was telling he couldn't figure out what was wrong with them because they looked funny. We tried to figure out if an ingredient was missing, then finally we figured out that Josh had switched the baking soda and baking powder!
I think it's common knowledge that I'm a terrible cook so it secretly makes me happy when someone else messes up so I know I'm not the only one who does that! :)
Here's a lovely picture of Josh's cookies, which are still edible, just funny looking.

Grandma B Stays With Me!
Grandma B came on Sunday night to stay with Jolie on Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday! They had sooo much fun and even got to enjoy some nice weather for some walks outside with Petey.
They tried some breakfast cereal (we thought we'd try three meals a day.) Grandpa B sent a very cute bib that Jolie got to try out too. The bib went over MUCH better than the cereal! Jolie seems to be very particular about texture of her food (wonder where she got that from--haha!) She doesn't seem to like fruit at all and even gagged the other day when we tried applesauce! Grandma B didn't have much success with morning cereal, but she gave it a great shot!

Jolie showed Grandma that she can play 'Peek-a-boo' with her rings!

PEEK-A-BOO!

And she modeled her hat before one of their walks--can you tell she was so excited about it?

Thank you so much for coming to stay (and for cooking mom and dad some awesome dinners!)! We can't wait to have you visit again!

Future Husker Cheerleader?
To celebrate the Huskers' victory today, Jolie has been working on her cheers. Her Grandma DeDe started practicing with Jolie while Josh and I were at the first Husker game this season. Obviously she's a natural!

Meeting in the Middle
Saturday we met Grandpa and Grandma Buechler at Uncle Matt and Arah's house in Omaha. We also got to stop at coolest store ever--Carter's to pick up some sweet (and might I mention ON SALE) clothes for Jolie! Then we headed over to meet everyone and got to spend a lovely relaxing Saturday watching football and eating one of my favorites--Buffalo Wild Wings! Well Jolie opted for some peas and squash, but the rest of us ate awesome wings!
Sadly, Jolie was having some issues with her Grandpa Buechler. Every time he would hold her or even look at her too long, she'd start screaming! It was so embarrassing and even though Jeff told her he'd remember this when it came to Christmas, it didn't appear to have any affect on Jolie! She just kept screaming at him--what a stinker!
Other than that everyone was happy because the Huskers and the Iowa Hawkeyes won. Well Uncle Matt was a little disappointed that Jolie was wearing Husker apparel and not any Hawkeye items. Next year when Nebraska changes conferences and plays Iowa, I have a feeling things could get ugly!
Jolie has been doing great practicing sitting up on her own and working on her flexibility. In fact, we've caught her with her big toes in her mouth! We also have been trying to keep her from sucking her thumb and giving her the pacifier instead. And now we've caught the little stinker with her thumb in the middle of her pacifier! So she's not technically sucking her thumb, but she's cruising on a thin line! I hope this isn't a sign of things to come, like trying to find technicalities around any rules we may have! :)
I don't know why or how I discovered this, but Jolie has been finding it so funny if I bark like a dog at her. So while she was screaming at her Grandpa Buechler, I was barking at her trying to make her laugh. Matt and Arah's neighbors probably think we are so weird!
Here's a couple pictures when I was barking at her--a really big laugh

And a lovely smile!

Dad's hair is so weird
We had a little shopping excursion and Jolie loves to be able to see everything whenever we go anywhere. Josh has decided that his favorite way is put her on his shoulders, even though Jolie's still a little peanut and his head is bigger than her entire body!
Jolie found his hair very interesting though! She would rub his head and then try to put her mouth on his head, then make lots of funny faces. Luckily Josh's hair is too short to grab, otherwise I think she would have loved to pull that like weeds! Whenever she gets a hold of my hair, I'm in trouble!

And since the weather seems to be cooling off quickly, Jolie needed some warmer clothes. Its kind of tricky though because she currently wears a size 3-6 months (and probably will for awhile yet) and then a lot of brands just go to a 6-12 month--and they are huge! A few brands have some 6-9 month size that we've picked up, but we really have to dig. Plus Jolie has certain items she doesn't 'like' such as fleece--she sweats like crazy in that stuff, which then leads to a massive meltdown! And wouldn't you know it--but fleece is very popular for this fall and winter! So we're just going to be on the lookout for the very specific 'Jolie approved' clothes!

Nebraska State Fair
This was the first year the Nebraska State Fair was in Grand Island after many, many years in Lincoln and since we were so close to GI, we thought we better check it out. Grandpa Phil really wanted to go see the tractor pull so we went and checked that out. We learned that Josh and I don't really care for tractor pulls, but at least we know now, right? Jolie slept through it!
The rest of the fair was pretty cool and it seemed like it went over very well being moved to central Nebraska. And although Josh and I may have been a little crabby from our late night at the Husker game the night before (shocking, right?) Jolie did great! She is just fascinated by everything there--all the people and so many things to look out! When she was riding in the stroller in a crowded area, she practiced 'talking' to everyone so people were great about moving out of her way! I thought she was her own horn! She had lots of smiles the whole time and she may be much more of a farm girl than her mommy!
This was her expression most of the time!

Husker Football Season Arrives!
GO BIG RED! Josh and I went with Doug and Kellie to the opening Husker game so Grandma and Grandpa De De got Jolie all to themselves--well they had a few guests over, but no mommy and daddy! This was my first time to be gone from Jolie so long, both in time and distance as Lincoln is 1.5 hours away. Let's just say I was a little nervous...or more like a nervous wreck! But once we finally got going, I did have a lot of fun and hopefully I wasn't too annoying. Plus I received plenty of text updates which I was so thankful for!
Here's a few of the pictures they sent me:
Helping Grandpa mow (I checked to make sure they didn't actually mow though!)
So many people to see and things to do!

Cheering on her favorite team of course!

I have some great video my mom took of them doing some Husker cheers that I hope to upload soon. Thanks to Doug and Kellie for letting us ride with you, thanks to Brett and Michael for letting us park there, thanks to Brett for the rides (and for allowing us to tear up your moldy room!) And thank you so much to Grandma and Grandpa for getting us tickets and letting us (or making me) go! We had lots of fun and now I've finally gotten over my fear and can start relaxing...maybe!
And since you all probably wanted to see me too (haha!) here's a picture Josh took of me in the world famous Husker tunnel where the amazing, super awesome Tunnel Walk takes place before each game! WHOA!

OMG-it's Uncle Michael
We went back to Nebraska over Labor Day Weekend and left early Friday morning. We were even able to make it back in time for lunch at Great Grandma Dibbern's! Woo hoo--there is nothing better than a home cooked meal--especially of hot roast beef sandwiches and mashed potatoes!
And we got to see Uncle Michael and he even held Jolie! Michael tends to be very busy with college and 'college activities' in Lincoln so we get pretty excited when we get to see 'the campus legend' Haha!
