Jolie loved running outside and even colored with some chalk! She's very advanced! By the time we came in, we had succeeded in covering her face, pants, jacket and shoes in a rainbow of chalk. I see many days of chalk in our future this Spring and Summer!

Hurry Up Spring!
The weather has been up and down here! Sunday we had giant snow flakes and by Monday afternoon, it was gone! So naturally on Tuesday afternoon it was awesome out which made us super excited for Spring! Oddly enough, Jolie wasn't feeling too great Monday evening and Tuesday morning and had been running a fever--although you can't tell at all from these pictures! Josh stayed home with her and after three naps, she perked back up. When I got home I thought we could all use some fresh air, so we grabbed Petey, Jolie's dinosaur scooter and some chalk and headed outside!

Kearney KidZone
Jolie had a busy weekend! Her cousin Sydney came from Kansas City so we went with Syd and the Wulf cubs to the Kearney Children's Museum and it was AWESOME once again! Uncle Brett even decided to come along to check it out too!
Playing the drum with Uncle Brett

They have a Critter Corner where you can be a vet. Jolie decided to be an animal and climbed right into the kennel! Petey must have told her what to do!

Sydney decided to get in the kennel too! In fact so did Hannah, Hayden and Sam!

We had so much fun!
After that Grandma and Grandpa came to go to a surprise birthday party for one of our friends. It was lots of fun and Jolie enjoyed playing with Raegan and Cole again and eating cake and playing with balloons. She partied until she passed out! Afterwards, Petey and Jolie went to Grandma and Grandpa's for a slumber party. Do you know what that means? It means Josh and I got to sleep in and it was AMAZING! :)
On Sunday we met back up at Great Grandma and Grandpa's house to eat lunch before Kim and Sydney left to go back to Kansas City. We are so happy we got to see them and go to the KidZone with Sydney, Sam, Hayden and Hannah! Thank you so much--it was a blast!

We got a bleeder over here!
This is a wee bit late but it happens. We had to find a new doctor and wait for some insurance to transfer over and all that but we finally got around to going to Jolie's one year check up. We liked the doctor, however Jolie did NOT like her shots...and neither one of us knew that she also had to have her blood drawn! They pricked her thumb and they must have hit a good spot! They put a cotton ball, band aid and then tape over that and she still bled through it and it was still bleeding two hours later! So it got on her pants, on her face--it was a bloody mess! haha! But everything looks good today and the doctor said she's doing great! Hitting all those milestones and keeping us busy! :)
Here are the Jolie stats:
-Weighs 19.6 lbs, I really thought she was over 20 now and about ready to grow out of her infant car seat, but we still have about 5 lbs to go.
-28.5 inches long or 2'4.5" Haha
-Loves reading books! She is always bringing us books to read to her and it's rare to see her without one, even in the bathtub!
-Is starting the switch to whole milk and sippy cups, although the milk is causing some serious farting! :)
-Wears 12 month clothes
-Crawls super fast!
-Uses everything as a walker
-Can stand alone for 10-15 seconds, but when you try to get her to take a step, she just sits down :)
-Takes two naps during the day
-Jams out and dances to a lot of music
-LOVES Sesame Street, she gets to watch one episode a day and I'm pretty sure it's her favorite part of her day!
-Started using a big girl toothbrush and she loves having her teeth brushed
-Likes combing and brushing her hair and tries to use many things as a comb, including a tongue depressor at the doctor's office, hehe
She's a very busy girl and Josh and I are noticing that we are chasing her around a lot lately--yikes! :)

Weekend Write Up
We had one of those pretty lazy weekends and it was awesome! Friday, we all went out to eat at The Chicken Coop with Grandma and Grandpa D (where Jolie decorated the floor with Cheerios, of course) then we went to the Storm hockey game. We got to go to our friends' suite again which is so nice when you have kids who want to run around! Raegan and Cole were there as well as their cousin Mason. He's 18 months old and they all had a good time cheering for the Storm! Plus it was $1 beer night so the adults had fun too! :)
During the rest of the weekend, Josh took on some organization projects in the basement. The basement is kind of Josh's project so I kind of let him do his own thing, but I checked it out and it looks pretty sweet! He set up some more shelves and a work station with some of his tools. At some point I'm going to go nuts with my label maker but for now, I'm content just letting Josh deal with it now.
I found a school for Jolie and got her enrolled today as I'll start my j-o-b later this week. When Jolie and I went to drop off some forms, she gave her teacher a big hug so that was a super great sign for me! Phew!
That's all I know for now, so here's a close up of our happy little family (minus Petey) that I love!

More Jolie projects
Let me apologize for the quality of my photos--I always have my phone with me though and I'm usually too lazy to grab my camera! Plus I'm kind of researching getting a nice SLR camera and wanting to learn to take super awesome pictures, but that's a dream for another day...
So here are some other Jolie projects I've been working on lately. Here's Jolie's room. This is the entry way to her room. I got these letters off of Etsy and they match her bedding. My mom hung them up all cool-ified! Then we found a cute purple dragonfly awhile ago; it's by the 'j' if you can't see it. I took this picture at night so the lighting was kind of weird. Love it!

We got a new frame (50% off at Hobby Lobby--woo hoo) and Josh hung up a Tom Everhart Snoopy print. Then I ordered some vinyl wall thingys from Etsy as well in purple and lime green. And I randomly stuck them all over--and might have finished this very quietly white Jolie was napping! :)

Next up, Jolie's toes. I had this nice little dream that maybe for her first birthday I would take her to get a little baby pedicure. I am so glad I didn't waste my time and money with that! Instead I tried to simply paint her toes myself. Holy wiggly toes! At first I painted them while she was in the high chair thinking she didn't really do much with her feet while eating...WRONG! Apparently she kicks all over! I think we had polish spots over her ankles! But I got the basics done anyway. Then I had to touch ups while she was napping one day. Have you ever tried to dab a little polish on a baby's toes while they are sleeping in a low crib that you can barely reach! What a chore! But they turned out decent enough. Every time Jolie sees her toes now, she loves grabbing them and even tried to put them in her mouth. Even trying to take a picture of her toes was difficult! Good grief.

Maybe we'll save the pedicure for when she can hold her feet still for a minute or so!

Jolie Projects
I forgot to post this on Valentine's Day, but I made this little card to send out from Jolie. I made a little cut on the photo near her hand and put a sucker in it so it's supposed to look like she's holding a sucker. I got this amazing idea from my old co-worker, and I used to babysit these two adorable kiddos!
Anyway, since I couldn't get Jolie to pose, I had to work with what I had, but I was pretty excited about it! Of course, I forgot to take a picture with the sucker in it...

In other news, Jolie is still obsessed with the laundry. As soon as I go to move a load over, she scoots over and helps pull out clothes or just look inside. Well the other day I went to pull out some clothes and notices something all over the washer and clothes. I had to use my 'Super Grover Investigation Skills'
Jolie has these alphabet blocks that are stackable. Notice anything missing?

If you look very carefully, the 'Z' block is missing. It's the smallest of the blocks. After looking over a few of the pieces, I realized what was all over the washer--remnants of the 'Z' block! Jolie decided it needed to be washed I guess!

Birthday Pictures by a PRO
1 Year Pictures--Take 1
We attempted to do Jolie's one year pictures before we moved so they were taken in early February. To say this was a massive failure would be an understatement! Jolie had a TOTAL MELTDOWN so not many photos were taken at all. Here a just a few we got

Wasn't really wanting to be without her Wubbanub (her doggie pacifier)

So we tried to see if she would eat cake. She literally just barely touched it, but would NOT try it.

Meltdown started...

Meltdown complete!

Maybe she knew her birthday wasn't until the end of the month?

Birthday Party Pictures
We had so much fun celebrating Jolie's first birthday!
Here is a picture of Jolie opening her present last weekend from Grandma and Grandpa Buechler. We had ice cream cake to celebrate! Yum!
She got a very cute monkey book and little stuffed animal monkey.

However, she carried the tiny tag from her monkey around for days afterwards!!

On her actual birthday we had a celebration for anyone who was able to make it. We had The Very Hungry Caterpillar decorations! Woo hoo! Grandma Buechler had made Jolie a Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt so I thought it would be a great theme to go with!

Here is Jolie's SMASH cake

Here's everyone else's cake--delicious! We also had homemade ice cream!

Uncle Michael with the birthday girl

Very careful with her cake

She'd say 'mmmmmmm' after tasting each bite.

I think I just ran around like a crazy person and didn't get many pictures, but I know many other people did! Jolie had almost 25 guests help her celebrate (well, Petey thinks they were all here to see him, so we haven't told him otherwise) and we are so thankful for all the love and support that everyone has given us! She received lots of nice cards and packages in the mail and is getting pretty good at tearing paper into tiny pieces!
Thank you all so much for being such great role models for Jolie! :)
