Grandma Dibbern is so funny!

Grandma Dibbern missed Jolie so much, she decided to make a surprise trip to Des Moines to see her (even though we’re going to see her next weekend)! So Jolie got to cut school on Friday and hang out with Grandma. They had a fun day and Jolie was excited to show Grandma all of her new tricks and what a good girl she can be. Petey helped too of course to make sure Grandma did everything right! After mom and dad got off work, we went to grab a bite to eat. And what trip would be complete without a trip to Babies R Us? Grandma said that Jolie found many items she ‘had to have’ and she is becoming quite the shopper. Jolie also decided that her Grandma is very funny and we included a video to show you too!

Everyone wants to snuggle with Dad

Sometimes after a long day of school (Jolie) or work (Josh) or even a long day of laying around the house (Petey), you just need a little nap before supper time!

The First Phone Call

I got my first phone call from school this week. On Monday, Jolie was still not a happy camper so around noon her teacher, Amy called me for advice. She said Jolie was wanting to be held the whole time, instead of participating in play time like usual, and was crying and fussing lots and hardly eating or napping! We told her we’d had a weekend of fevers and her teacher said she had checked and she didn’t have a fever so she wasn’t sure what was up.

While I was on the phone with her, daddy stopped by to have lunch with her so he said he’d assess the situation. He was able to get her to take a bottle and he got her to sleep so we told Amy to give me a call if she was still having problems later and I could come get her. And what do you know? She did okay the rest of the day! I think she just missed her daddy. And since that day, she’s been a lot better. Those teeth must have been acting up again!

Happy Father's Day!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the AWESOME Dads and Grandpas out there (especially Jolie's!)!

We haven't done much of anything this weekend because Jolie has been keeping us busy! It started Friday when we picked her up from school. Her teacher said she'd been discontent all day. Later that evening she had a fever so we've been trying Tylenol and Motrin. The Tylenol is grape flavored and Motrin is cherry and she's made some pretty funny faces while trying it, but I think she prefers grape. She's been running fever pretty much all weekend but it's been a lower grade one so we're not sure what's up. Sometimes she gets pretty fussy, but for the most part she's been okay. Snuggly and sleepy. We'll have to see how she does next week, but hopefully she's on the mend!

Here's a picture I took earlier this week when Josh was getting ready for work. I have a feeling Jolie will be giving her dad this look a lot in her teen years. Ha! Ha!

Jolie had quite a week! Monday she went to school where she gave her dad her very first Father's Day card they had made. It says 'You're the tops, pop!' and then it had a bag of popcorn with with. They also said they used red ribbon on Jolie's for the Huskers!

Tuesday and Wednesday, Jolie hung out with Grandma Buechler and had so much fun! She showed Grandma all of her new tricks. Here is a lovely picture of her on a walk--her sunglasses are a little big but if you put them over her hat, they stay on! :)

Wednesday afternoon, Uncle Matt came from Omaha to hang out. Josh had Thursday off, so they both took care of Jolie and kept her entertained. She loves teaching Matt new things and enjoys spitting up or pooping on him! ;)

Thursday night, Jolie went to her first Iowa Cubs (I Cubs) game because Lindsay's work had an event there. It was ridiculously hot, windy and humid out so we didn't stay too long, but she seemed to like it. Mom and Dad noticed that baseball games were suddenly much scarier as we had to stay aware of any foul balls that might come Jolie's way!

Lately, Jolie has been drinking her bottle with her eyes covered. Not sure why, but it cracks me up! Growing big is hard work!

Giggles!

Grandma Buechler is hanging out with Jolie for a couple of days this week so she and Petey got to go on lots of walks today. Petey has developed a love for riding under her in the stroller--what a goof!

But the big awesomely awesome news is that we got Jolie to laugh AND--even better--we caught it on tape to share with you!

Please excuse all of our laughing--as you can tell, we were a little excited! Hope to see lots more of this soon!

I like rings...lots and lots of rings

We haven't been up to much lately and seem to have gotten into a nice little routine--play and get ready in the morning, school for Jolie/work for mom and dad, hang out with Jolie in the evening and get ready for the next day. Jolie's been doing great at school and is talking up a storm there and taking longer naps which makes everyone happier! We have been amazingly blessed with a little baby who has slept through the night since about Easter--5 weeks old! She is still doing this most of the time and we are sooooo thankful!

This past weekend we went to see Grandma and Grandpa Buechler in Graettinger. It was a very low key weekend that we hoped to spend sunning on the porch, but it turned out to be a rainy and cold weekend. So we moved the cuddle party inside but somehow, dad and grandpa managed to brave the elements to get in 2 1/2 rounds of golf! Grandma noticed that Jolie had two very big bumps on her gums that were very sore. Luckily Grandma also had some really cool rings to chew on and we had brought some Tylenol because there were a couple meltdowns. Anyway, once we got home Dad went to get Jolie her very own rings to chew on and she loves them! And I'm sure you wanted a demonstration, right?

Rolling, rolling, rolling

First, let me apologize for the length of this video. I usually try to keep them around a minute so they don't get too long, but I was able to catch Jolie rolling over and then she started talking, and then Petey came to play, and then I thought she might roll again, and then...well you get the idea.

Jolie also had her first 'rough' day at school yesterday. When Josh went to eat lunch with her, her teacher said she had been pretty fussy. She mentioned that she seemed like she wanted to be held the whole time...like maybe she had just spent 5 days in a row with all of her grandparents or something! :) What could she be talking about?!?! Hehe! Well she continued to be pretty fussy for us last night too and wanted to party all night! I was nervous for school today, but her teacher said she had been GREAT and was having an awesome day! Josh thinks it might have been because her little 'boyfriend' Cash was back in her room today. This little girl might be trouble if she's already boy crazy!

When we got home, I was playing with her and I got a little chuckle out of her! I was so excited as she seems like she's so close to laughing but just can't get the sound out. I was hoping to catch it on video but wasn't successful this time. I'm so excited for baby laughs to start! Anyway, here's a ridiculously long video of Jolie playing!
